Live
Room.
The Live Room is probably the most impressive room in the building, big enough to host a full band or a small ensemble! It has a tall vaulted ceiling with two wood beams across, that with the addition of the dark wood wall, choice of colours and lightning make it a cozy and inspiring place for the artists, producers and engineers.
The acoustics are really neutral and controlled, but not dull or dead, making it a great place for recording acoustic instruments like drum kits, guitars or our Yamaha C1 baby grand piano.
The wood wall has a much different sound character than the opposite one, which gives a possibility for different room tonalities when changing the placement of the source and/or the mics.
It has audio connections between the Control Room, Lounge and Iso Booth, which makes it possible to have a full band recording in the Live Room, while the guitar/bass amps are in another room, solving mic spill issues while maintaining the live playing feel that a lot of bands seek.
There is a small HK Audio PA fitted in the wood wall, which expands the possibilities for rehearsals, capturing room tones, or just simply listening to music while session prepping/dismounting.
Each beam has a pair of microphones, and there is another pair of lavalier mics hidden in the wood wall, which are very useful as listen back or room microphones. Lots of creative stuff can be done using these without much hassle.
Like the control room, the air is climatized and ventilated, which ensures good quality air. The systems are controlled independently for more convenience.
